Mr. Taunton is a native of Americus, Georgia. He's a graduate of Americus-Sumter County High School and Georgia Southwestern State University. He hold a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology, and he also holds a Master's of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mr. Taunton is married to Mrs. Molly Taunton (3rd grade advisor here at Furlow), and they have one daughter, Caroline. 

Mr. Taunton enjoys literature, sports, and movies. He enjoys helping teenagers grow and understand the world around them.
