Hi! Welcome to Furlow Charter School! I’m Elizabeth Powe, Middle School Social Studies Advisor. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, I was raised one hour north of the “Big Easy”. Growing up there allowed me to have the best of both country life and city culture.
One of the loves I developed while living there was for the rich history and travel. This love became a passion as I was afforded the opportunity to travel both nationally and internationally while delving into the history of the United States and the World. One of my favorite journeys was to Normandy, France.
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education through Southeastern Louisiana University. After moving to Americus, I became certified in Middle School Social Studies.
I spend my spare time with my wonderful husband and four beautiful children. I enjoy traveling, hiking in the mountains, reading, writing, and good food.
